On Friday, March 25th, Afropopcity took part in the Music for Mental Health 2022 in Dolans Warehouse Limerick. Music for Mental Health is a popular fundraising and mental health awareness event hosted by Humali. Our founder Anthony Onaloye took the stage to share his story around mental health and how music can be a tool to better your mental health. The fundraiser event also had our Collective Member, Joyce Zacks who graced us with some sick vocals. Other artists include, Leah Barniville, Emma Langford, Séamus & Caoimhe Nà Fhlatharta, and Stray Saints.
Music for Mental Health is a social impact event linking artists, businesses and good causes to generate awareness for mental health in Ireland. All monies raised through ticket sales are shared amongst six charities within the Humanli family. They are Blue Box Creative Arts Therapy, Cliona’s Foundation, Clare’s Wish Foundation, Corpus Christi Primary School, Limerick Suicide Watch and Lime Tree Theatre.
This is the fourth Annual Music for Mental Health gig organised by Karl Daly. The first Music for Mental Health was launched as a once-off fundraiser in January 2018 but such was its success, within three years it raised €57,500 for good causes working on suicide prevention, domestic abuse support and advancement of education.
We at Afropopcity are so happy to join such a wonderful initiative in Limerick and will also be supporting mental health charity Pieta House in our upcoming Limerick Summer Fest.
